The Role
As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will play an integral role in supporting the management of project costs from inception to completion. You will receive hands-on training and mentorship from experienced professionals in the field. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in preparing cost estimates and budgets for projects.
- Conducting site visits to monitor progress and costs.
- Learning to analyze tender documents and prepare bid proposals.
- Supporting in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Maintaining accurate records of financial transactions and changes on-site.
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly cost reports and forecasts.
- Working closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure the project aligns with budgetary constraints.
- Learning to utilize industry-standard software tools for cost management and reporting.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking motivated individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with cost management software is a plus.
