Key Responsibilities

As a heavy equipment technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting routine maintenance and repairs on heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, and more.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues using specialized diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Performing overhauls and major repairs on engines and other critical components.
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all repairs and maintenance activities.
• Keeping detailed records of repairs, parts used, and timesheet documentation.
• Collaborating with other technicians and staff to improve efficiency and productivity on-site.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in heavy equipment technology is highly preferred.
• Proven experience as a heavy equipment technician or similar role (at least 3 years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
